Clarisa DeFranco

Clarisa has invested across emerging markets for almost 30 years, both directly and as a fund investor, and serves as a Senior Advisor to ACP across India, Africa, and Latin America.

Previously, Clarisa spent 16 years at British International Investment (BII), where she led the Private Equity Funds team, managing a ~US$2.5bn portfolio of fund investments across Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean and serving on BII’s Funds IC covering PE, VC, infrastructure, and private credit. She co-chaired the AVCA LP Advisory Council and GPCA's DFI Council. Earlier, she held operational and investment roles at Grupo Financiero Uno in Central America and made direct investments in Latin America for CDC from London and Costa Rica.

Clarisa holds a BA (Hons) in Mathematics and Economics from Marquette University and an MBA from INCAE Business School, Nicaragua.
