Mark Gallogly

Mark’s career spans investing, philanthropy, and public policy – connecting good ideas with the resources they need to thrive. He co-founded Centerbridge Partners, an investment firm with over $30 billion in assets under management across private equity, real estate, and credit, from which he retired in 2020. Earlier, he served as Global Head of Private Equity at The Blackstone Group.

Mark has also held several public service roles: he served on President Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness (2010–2012) and the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board (2008–2010), and most recently as an Expert Senior Advisor to Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry at the U.S. State Department, engaging the private sector and financial institutions around climate action.

He holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Columbia University. He serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Columbia University and sits on the Board of Advisors at the Columbia Climate School.

Mark co-founded Three Cairns Group with his wife, Lise Strickler, because he is passionate about building a future where people and the planet can thrive together – and where the benefits of progress are felt by all.
